Architecture for new construction, existing buildings and transformation.
studionel is an architecture and planning office for new construction, existing buildings and transformation. We develop and realise projects in residential and commercial construction – from the initial concept to built completion. A particular focus is on the further development of existing buildings: from attic conversions in Berlin apartment buildings to the revitalisation of large, often listed factory and administrative buildings. In doing so, we combine design ambition with economic solutions and precise, pragmatic planning.
We are designers.
For us, designing means taking responsibility, making decisions and moving projects forward. Good planning identifies risks and names problems – but does not stop there.
We work in a solution-oriented way and combine creativity with pragmatism and design ambition with economic viability. We are not looking for the most complicated solution, but the right one.
We work in partnership and directly. Reliability, accessibility and constructive cooperation are just as important to us as the architectural result.
A project does not emerge from the documentation of concerns, but from good decisions.
Our aspiration is architecture that is convincing in design, works economically and is realised.

studionel was founded in 2013 by architect Nico Leist. After studying at the TU Berlin, he worked from 2006 to 2013 at Adjaye Associates in Berlin and London, where he worked on international projects of various scales. Today, studionel handles projects of varying sizes in the fields of new construction, conversion, renovation and existing building development with a growing team.
